The EAST-ADL2.0 is an architecture description language, intended for modeling automotive embedded systems. It provides means to handle complexity and improve safety, reliability, cost, and development efficiency through model-based development. EAST-ADL2.0 is aligned to AUTOSAR (http://www.autosar.org/), in the sense that the software architecture is defined using the AUTOSAR modeling approach.

Complementary aspects of the system model are defined in EAST-ADL2.0-specific constructs based on UML2 related approaches such as SysML and MARTE. The language was implemented in a UML2 profile. The EAST-ADL2.0 is a revision of the initial EAST-ADL system modeling approach that was defined in the EAST-EEA project (http://www.east-eea.net/). The revised version is developed in the ATESST EU project under the 6th Framework Programmme and its sequel ATESST2 (http://www.atesst.org/).

The purpose of this papyrus add-in is to provide the ability within the tool to describe EAST-ADL2-compliant models using this profile. It implements all the stereotypes and related properties as defined in the EAST-ADL2.0 specification and may be applied on any kind of UML models build within Papyrus.
